Apple & pear industry day

FGT will be holding an apple & pear industry day on Monday, 7 October 2019. Hosted at the packhouse of R&R Smith in Grove, the event includes updates on national projects, a guided orchard walk, a Q&A discussion about on-farm biosecurity, updates on TIA’s latest apple research activities, as well as bee management during pollination.

Invited speakers at the event include researchers Dr Nigel Swarts (TIA), Dr Sally Bound (TIA), Madeleine Way (TIA) and Ramandeep Singh Sidhu (TIA), as well as national industry program manager Richelle Zealley (APAL) and Victorian pollination expert Trevor Monson (Monson Honey & Pollination). The event includes morning tea & lunch, and will aim to finish by 3:45pm. Drinks and refreshments will be available beforehand and throughout the day.
