Fruit Growers Tasmania is proud to support the upcoming “Just a Farmer” screenings in Tasmania.
"Just a Farmer" is a heartfelt and powerful film that captures the resilience, struggles and triumphs of rural life.
The film shed light on the challenges faced by farmers and their families, exploring themes of mental health, community support and the unbreakable bond between people and the land they work on.
Three screenings will take place in Tasmania, on:
- 21 August in Huonville.
- 23 August in Longford.
- 24 August in Smithton
These community events will feature a BBQ beforehand and a post screening Q&A session with Leila McDougall, Writer, Producer & Executive Producer.
Peter Cornish, CEO of Fruit Growers Tasmania said, “We are delighted to work with Anna Henry of Stirling Grove to arrange the community screenings of Just a Farmer around the state, and to bring the creator of the film Leila McDougall to Tasmania.
“Just a Farmer is a film that shines a light on mental health in rural communities. These powerful and moving screenings provide a rare opportunity to hear firsthand about the making of the movie and the conversations it has sparked across the country.
“We encourage anyone to attend the screenings in their local area. Let’s come together to be part of something that matters by supporting each other and sharing our own experiences.”
Just a Farmer is more than just a story - it's a movement to bring awareness, spark important conversations and celebrate the strength of rural communities.
