Board nominations

FGT Board of Management

FGT is governed by a board of management consisting of growers from across Tasmania's fruit industries. These directors are elected directly by the FGT's grower members during the association's annual general meeting. 

 The composition of the board is members consist of:

  • four (4) stonefruit grower representatives
  • four (4) pomefruit grower representatives
  • one (1) berry grower representative

Once elected, each board member serve for a term of two years. There is no limit to the number of terms that an individual may serve as member of the FGT board. 

The following positions are due for election at the 2019 AGM:

  • one (1) stonefruit grower representative
  • three (3) pomefruit grower representatives
  • one (1) berry grower representative
Board Member Nominations

Grower members interested in becoming members of the board are encouraged to nominate themselves for election. 

Persons seeking nomination must submit a valid candidate nomination form.

To be a valid nomination, nominations are required to meet the following four (4) criteria:

  1. The nominee is a grower member of FGT, or is the appointed representative of a company that is a grower member of FGT.
  2. The nomination must be put forward by an individual who is a grower member of FGT, or is the appointed representative of a company that is a grower member of FGT. Self-nominations are permitted and encouraged.
  3. The nomination must also be supported by a second individual who is a grower member of FGT, or is the appointed representative of a company that is a grower member of FGT.
  4. The nomination must be received by Returning Officer prior to the commencement of the AGM.

Copies of the nomination are available online, and will also be sent out to all grower members with meeting papers prior to the meeting date. Blank copies of these forms will also be available at the venue.

Close of nominations

Close for nominations will coincide with the commencement of the AGM and be announced by the sitting Chairman.
