Fruit Growers Tasmania Special General Meeting
When: 12.45pm–1.00pm Thursday, 12 June 2025
Where: Plenary Hall, Wrest Point Hotel, 410 Sandy Bay Rd, Sandy Bay, Hobart, Tasmania
Fruit Growers Tasmania warmly invites all members to a short Special General Meeting (SGM) to be held from 12.45pm - 1pm on Thursday 12 June 2025.
The SGM will be held as part of the 33rd Fruit Growers Tasmania Industry Conference at the Plenary Hall, Wrest Point Hotel, 410 Sandy Bay Rd, Sandy Bay, Hobart, Tasmania.
We are holding this short SGM at the conference to ensure we get at least 15 voting members together to consider and hopefully pass an amendment to our constitution to ensure we maintain our income tax exemption status.
At the SGM, members will be asked to consider and, if thought fit, agree to add a dissolution clause to Rule 7 of the Fruit Growers Tasmania Inc constitution as a special resolution.
The proposed additional clause is as follows:
In the event of the organisation being dissolved, the amount that remains after such dissolution and the satisfaction of all debts and liabilities shall be transferred to another organisation with similar purposes which is not carried on for the profit or gain of its individual members.

A special resolution means the resolution needs to be supported by at least 75% of members' votes at the SGM.
